Aerospace – Bracket

Aircraft seat brackets are key load-bearing castings for aviation seats and are directly related to occupant safety. As the domestic aviation supporting industry develops, OEMs impose stringent control standards on the dimensional precision, surface quality, and batch consistency of bracket castings. Traditional manual grinding produces unstable quality and can hardly meet the supporting requirements of high-end aviation components.

Aircraft seat brackets are produced through precision sand casting, featuring numerous hollowed-out structures, multiple mounting lugs, and significant wall thickness variations. Castings are prone to shrinkage and expansion deformation during cooling, resulting in differences in the contour of individual pieces. Flashes, burrs, and oxide scale remain on parting surfaces and lug mounting positions. Traditional fixed fixtures are positioned according to theoretical dimensions and cannot compensate for casting deformation deviations, making problems such as under-grinding of mounting faces and localized over-grinding prone to occur. Manual cleaning of burrs in small positions is highly difficult, and rework control pressure is high.

To address the grinding pain points of bracket castings, Quanyu Industry has developed an automated grinding solution based on 3D vision deviation correction technology. The equipment scans and captures the actual contour of each bracket casting in real time, uses algorithms to calculate shrinkage and expansion deformation and automatically compensate for it, resolves the problem of inaccurate positioning caused by casting deformation, and dynamically generates a grinding trajectory adapted to each individual workpiece, precisely removing flashes and burrs from lugs, parting surfaces, and other locations.

After the equipment was put into application, the customer's seat bracket casting grinding batch consistency improved significantly, and the rework defect rate dropped sharply. Automated grinding replaces high-intensity manual positions, improving production cycle time and reducing labor costs and dust-related operational risks. The product meets aviation component assembly and quality inspection standards, helping the customer improve quality and efficiency and enhance competitiveness in aviation casting supporting applications.
